Baptist Health South Florida Central Energy Plant
The Baptist Health South Florida Central Energy Plant, located in Boca Raton, FL, is a two-story concrete-framed facility with a precast and glass exterior. Designed to withstand a Category 5 hurricane with winds exceeding 180 mph, the plant is connected to the existing hospital via a utility bridge.
SMC installed three 2,300-ton chillers, five 17,250 GPM stainless steel cooling towers, five condensing boilers, 16 pumps, five air handling units, and 18 fan coil units. Additionally, four electrical generators provide 10,000 kW, ensuring 21 days of power in case of an outage.
Construction began in Q1 2022 and was completed in 2024.
